No_Username: Disc or disc drive? (General Computing)
I bought a game the other day. Then the game itself wouldn't play, so i took the disk out, and rebooted the computer. The computer wasn't registering the disc in the drive, but it did in other computers.. i tried everything i could think of- unistalled it, (but then the other sims games didn't work), deleted other games so i was sure there was enough room, then eventually uninstalled the whole of the sims and re-installed it which took ages. It still wouldn't work although sometimes the little disc icon would come up in 'my computer'. So i sent it back and received a new one today, which also doesn't work I really don't know what on earth the problem is! A box came up saying- that the computer couldn't read the disc, it was either corrupted or in a format that windows can't read.
I've given up on it all together now, I have windows xp, a dvd drive, a 2.8 ghz processor, 1.5 gb of ram, loads of space on the hard drive, and NVIDIA GeForce 7600. Do you know what the problem is? Everthing else on the computer works- every other disc and program, except this one. Can you help? Please?
